About

I received a set of oil paints from my parents when I was six, and learned to love the medium from that early age. There has rarely been a time in my life when I have not painted. However, there were many long, lean periods when I painted less frequently than others. Not until I enrolled in the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, though, did I really commit to painting. Some of the work on this site is from these early years (1998 - 2002) while I was a student at the Museum School, other work covers the intervening years, and the newest work is an attempt to map out a new direction. This new direction involves painting from memory based on observation. It is a much looser, more painterly style than I had pursued before.

Many of my paintings may be seen in galleries, cafes, and restaurants  in the Berkshires. Most of the newer work is available for purchase from my Etsy store.
